  • ^ in talks with him atm, but thats more expensive (minus the slidey drop out thingy) not a lot more but I get the point, so no to civilian then :(

  • Seems an awful lot for whats essentially an OTP frame

  • get a pompetamine plus respray/stickers... loads of change for beer.

  • ^ smallest pomp is a bit big for her, that would've been awesome otherwise :)

  • I need a new bike for my commute and think it should be built around a cx frame. I live in Copenhagen and often have to ride 30-40 km in a day, through snow.. This bike wont be raced, but could do with being fast, and fun to ride. It also has to be steel. I don't particularly want discs as cable discs are a faff. mudguards mounts would be great and perhaps mounts for a front rack (I'm a proffesional guitarist and being able to transport a small amp would be great...) Budget is not really the main issue, but value for money is.

    any ideas?

  • Second hand Cross Check?

  • it looks great. is it maybe a bit heavy?

  • You live in Copenhagen!

    :)

    Steel, light, cheap. Pick two.

  • Second hand Cross Check + carbon fork in that case?

  • Would save you about 3-400 gram assuming you replaced it with something carbon and cheap - about 10pc of the total frame + fork weight.

    My math is shit though

  • You're looking for something to commute with, I can't see why you would worry about carbon fork given how tricky it is to "bomb" around Copenhagen 's bike path.

try benbens new shop in nordre frihavnsgade. a few different genesis models as well as ari's own belt drive city bikes.

  • Thanks for the local knowledge Drøn, I'll check it out. Ed I know what you mean, and I'm only 70kg, but with a les Paul on my back, an amp on a front rack and a change of clothes/other gear it can get heavy.. I would like to know that the bike won't break.

I'm a little off Surly as in a past life as a London bike mech (at London Recumbents an then Bikefix) we sold them and both bosses had them, which has given them unsexy connotations..

  • What size do you need?

I have a Denton frame I'm thinking of selling. It's more suited to SS though.

  • It's a Surly, reliable steel bike that can take a pounding.

  • I need a 56 Miro, I could always put a sturmey on it...

  • Planet X Kaffenback?

  • ^ PM'ed

  • Kaffenbacks are out of stock at the moment. I'm interested in getting one this summer. Any had experience with them? What would they like for actual cross use? Do they have enough mud clearance?

  • Disc brake cross frame and fork for a 5 foot 5 and a half inch tall woman, suggestions please?

  • Thould be a few options for the 5'5" woman, the half inch one might struggle.

Thank you very much, I am here all week (except Thursday when it's quiz night).

  • Right, back to this again- decent but affordable disc CX frame that works well in small sizes.

    Go!

  • ^ what is your budget dammit? TFG/Kinoko can make you one in zona for about £600 for frameset approximate
