Actually as long as the contentious cunt's back in the Prem I don't mind where he goes <3
Anywhere but United. I want them to suffer in his absence. Hopefully the Glazers will use this as the cue to bleed the coffers dry.

I'm no fan of Man U, but I've got a lot of respect for Fergie.
It won't be the same without him (hopefully)
this ... apart from the respect for fergie bit
-
• #80505
No - Rafa stays
He's off to Newcastle
-
• #80506
I was always under the impression that Man U would want to replace him with another long term manager - is Mourino really the guy for that?
-
• #80507
So....
Fergie >>
Maureen > United
Wegner > PSG
Moyes > Cheslea
Rafa > Newcastle
Redknapp > Everton
? > ArsenalIt's getting a bit confusing

I reckon the board asked Fergie to retire now knowing they could get Jose given the timing
I'd have thought that someone if lined up - I can't believe that they would have allowed him to go without something pretty certain lined up.

Sad to see him go. Utd will be just another big club now, looking to keep at the top of the pile. I loved the fact that Fergie made everything personal, held grudges and generally was a spiteful old man (in a football sense) and I think English football will miss his passion to overturn the Liverpool empire and to slap down anyone who wanted to take on his own.
Are there any other managers who have been so successful at one club for such a long period of time? Johnathon Wilson always quotes Bela Gutmann? Who said a manager had a three year window before players started tuning them out and the manager had to move on. Fergie has remade his team countless times and kept winning, which makes him a different beast to many current managers.
I'm hoping utd do a Liverpool and get sent to the bottom of the league pile (high five to Graeme souness) but I think the board are smart enough not to employ Steve Bruce or Roy keane, but they'll be just like any other club now with the churn rate of managers speeding up exponentially with every down (not winning the league) season..

He's a bully, why the fuck would you respect a bully?
What, like you?

Can't see Moyes going to MU, he doesn't have a great record against big sides, plays pretty negative football and isn't particularly charismatic. He's a bit of a non-entity on the world stage and probably couldn't attract the kind of players MU need. Smalltime.

• #80512
Moyes would shit himself at a big club. It's all well and good staying at a small club, getting praised for 'What a fantastic job he does with no funds' blah blah blah
It suits him perfectly. He would not last a second season at United -
• #80513
Moyes is perfectly suited to your West Brom/Everton/Fulham-type clubs, just ticking over, trying to stay in the Prem, selling shirts and enjoying mid-table safety
-
• #80514
United need a big-time manager, someone who know's the club, has experience of winning trophies, who has managed at the highest level, and who isn't afraid to spout some bullshit every now and then like Fergie.
Step forward Steve McClaren.

• #80515
Listen bellwipe's, Moyes is NOT goin to Utd
If it happens I'll wear a Liverpool shirt every day to work for a whole month
Odds shortening on Moyes. Good luck.
-
• #80516
Yes. I think his limit would probably be Newcastle. A club slightly bigger but ever so more deluded than Everton.
-
• #80517
Jesus
Moyes is 1/4 ON to be the next United manager
Maureen 4/1I so hope he takes the job and sends them hurtling to mid table mediocracy
-
• #80518
If Cantona becomes the next United manager I might be forced to rethink my completely rational hatred of them.
-
• #80519
This is really going to liven things up.
If Maureen has any sense, he'll steer well clear - let that Moyles fella be the rebound manager who fucks it up, then step back in to restore former glories etc.
-
• #80520
will we ever see a manager manage for as long again ?
and this song is much more apt to fergie's going
ding dong the witch is dead ... the wicked wicked witch
wonder if the bbc will ban it when it gets to the top of the charts this time -
• #80521
I'd have thought that someone if lined up - I can't believe that they would have allowed him to go without something pretty certain lined up.
new manager to be announced within a couple of days, then need to resign first
#pleasebemoyes -
• #80522
United will move quickly, they are not a bunch of fuckwits like Wolves who don't and didn't have a plan. Is the resignation to do with David Gill leaving?
-
• #80523
What, like you?
Jeez isn't a bully, he's just a shit troll...
-
• #80524
Clive trolling about biased ref shocker.
You missed the bit about Fergie remaining as a Director, of what we do not know, probably Director of the visiting FA officials and keeper of the fourth official's watch.
No - Rafa stays
