Right, probably going to order a Mielec at the weekend to replace my leave-at-the-station commuter bike.
Is everyone still happy with theirs?
I've been thinking about going for some tear-drop/triangular tubing, has anyone in the thread gone for that? Just wondering a) how it looks close up and b) would the flat sides of the tubing make it more flexible (compounded more by me ordering an XL frame)?
Thanks

Ooh, just a thought, do Mielec do 'Dale copies too?
Or could we ask 'em to?

an ordinary cheap VP 107mm
-
• #3637
angles looking slack, front wheel to downtube clearance looks big
-
• #3638
angles are the same, forks look like 44mm so paired with more clearance on the front there's your answer.
-
• #3639
Yes, the forks are road forks with 45mm rake, if a miracle happens and I get some more money, I'll buy some decent track forks, but this is it for now. If I was old enough to work it wouldn't be such a problem

Nice one!!! What size is it?

seriously tempted by mielec low now, spesh with new dropouts/stays..
-
• #3644
It's 55,5 c-c

I really like the skinny forks with the chunky tubing, I agree it'd look nicer with less rake/tighter clearance. Keep your eyes peeled on eBay, I got my alpinas dirt cheap.

Has anyone had a Mielec done with 650c front?
-
• #3647
I have been thinking about it for a while. Get a set of these :

Or maybe even get one built with 1" HT and get some steel forks

Thinking of it as a solution to my T-Rex Syndrome®
If I get a frame small enough for me with 700c, there is mad toe overlap. This would solve that plus be slave innit. Gotta look like a plonker for the summer.

a small frame built with a horizontal top tube or very little slope and a 650c, i think that would be awesome
Damn :( £20...
