The seat position is a little high and I may need to change to the layback Thomson. I've been riding my tourer until this morning, and despite the position not being quite right it felt incredibly quick in comparison.

It look fairly steep, if you have a modern saddle that you get on well with, it might be worth putting that on as modern saddle have a longer railing than old saddle allowing you to set it back a bit more.

I think you might need a little more layback than the Thomson's offering I'm afraid.

1+ on the Paselas, decent all-round tyres.
