nine riders should be able to go faster than 5, but OPQS are a team built around winning Cav stages. Despite them being world TTT champions they didn't push that hard hence why they didn't shed as many riders. Other teams burnt off they weaker TTers as they went for the win or to minimise timeloss for their GC contenders

Also, I don't think any of the World TTT team are present in the Giro, which doesn't help.
