fun days riding. dimi, it was me who asked if you were a professional (albeit jokingly) but nice to see you clean up in the novice racing, haha.
Thanks and good to see you!

I did the Induction today. Loved it and will definitely be back next week for Basic Training.
I stayed afterwards and caught some of the Novice Racing:
...
I also shot the last two laps of the first race on my iPhone:
Nice. I'm planning to go the induction just as soon as I've got a free weekend.

Some sick sand-bagging sounds like it went down.

Good fun on Sat - I tried my best to 'race' and succeeded in my goals of not coming last and not crashing into anyone.. Some pretty decent 'novices' there as well! ;-) !

What were you riding?

Yeah good day on Saturday, shame about the rain/hail. Pretty good standard all round.

Was last week Saturday a fairly average basic training session?
What's the jump from basic to intermediate like, I'm really looking to stretch my legs and come out feeling tired next week where in beginners I came out feeling like I could have done it again twice more.

I wouldn't worry too much about sandbaggers. There wasn't exactly any big prizes on offer and nobody really seemed to be riding too far away from the others.
Besides, a few slightly more experienced riders makes the racing safer.

It's about skill level and experience on the track rather than fitness. The basic sessions are meant to teach you all you need to know to be safe in the intermediate sessions, once you get to them it's more of a work out. Stick with the basics for 2 more weeks (maybe go out for a little spin on the road afterwards or on sunday for extra training), learn what you need to train safely, then come to intermediates and/or monday race training.

I was riding my somewhat hastily assembled Nelson Pista ! Hopefully he'll see some more outings this season down at HH..
The racing felt pretty controlled all-in-all, can't remember any sketchy moments (unless they were occurring behind me ;-) great to participate even if I didn't have much of an engine..
Also Paramounted and mine's 'tactics' didn't really work out ... need more practice

Also Paramounted and mine's 'tactics'
What were they?

Some sort of complex lead-out routine in the kieren heats, except I wasn't really paying attention when the derny pulled off and misjudged the fact everyone else was faster!

There i was worried about the Dulwich boys using their numbers in the scratch race. A couple of the college kids weren't bad either but they seemed to just go hell for leather from the gun.

I still got second, mind and we didn't even have to use the cheese wire or spiked sticks.
