I'd be hesitant about marking teams as going to the Euros or not before hand.. If a team has a surprising run, they might decide to go, after all.
I didn't mean that it was an 'official' demarkation as such, merely an indication of those already able to commit to going if qualified.
B's point demonstrates the issues embedded within this dual event concept.
As we currently have it presented, only the top six on Saturday night have a right to accept a place on the UK roster - Sunday performances become irrelevant to the qualification process.
After that selection is confirmed, there may be spots falling to teams outside this Saturday top six, although still 'qualified' by attending the qualification event. I assume then, that any other teams/combinations that do not play at this event can only expect to play in the EHBPC wildcard (unless of course all six qualification spots are not filled).
I think there should be some sort of time limit/framework to qualified teams confirming their places set in advance - otherwise travel and planning becomes too difficult for next best teams to be able to manage logistics.
It would be good to avoid last year's confusion re. wildcard places being unfilled etc.
