  • incredible haul,

A safer neighbourhood team discovered a haul of 150 bikes - believed to be stolen - following a raid of a house in Clapton on Monday. Leabridge Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) executed a search warrant at an address in Chatsworth Road, Clapton at around 11am. Once inside they, discovered the bikes as well as 100 bike parts.

and quite a house - to be able to fit 150 bicycles!

  • @ Apollo - Cheers for the info. Good grief!

  • Anyone lost a Bob Jackson track with nice stuff or a red Cougar? If so PM with details as I can put you in touch witb someone.

  • Friend just had back wheel & saddle stolen from a new Bianchi steel single-speed outside the Shakespeare on Allen Road N16.

For a residential street (as the neighbours remind us when we have people over) it's got to be one of the worst theft hot spots.

I guess if you don't have anywhere to keep a bike indoors in London you basically can't have a bike - or you need to carry two D-Locks, remove the saddle and do other stuff which makes cycling a lot less fun.

  • you mean you don't.....

Nah... Two locks, comfortable way of carrying them, ball bearings stuck in all allen heads, fun can resume.

Popping by later today to have a look if I can find my lost pomp!

  • Todays has been changed to 8-2 according to their twitter

  • Didn't know that! Cheers for the info! I think I can just make it there before 2.

  • I popped down to this the other day..

Big haul, but mainly completely beaten up pony MTBs and a lot of kid's bikes.

Only things of note were a Bianchi frameset (looked alu nirone in green and pretty big) and a Silver Condor few years old. If that's any use.

There was this bonkers bike called "springer" which was orange and they'd built springs into the seat stays and forks for "suspension"

  • Kat (OLC's) girlfriend here. We've awoken to find my bike has been nicked from inside my building in Herne Hill, thankfully they left Simon's. It's a Pinarello hybrid, needs new gear shifters and a chainset, was booked in to brixton cycles for nearly £400 worth of new parts but I spose I'll have to spend that on a new bike now. It currently has miche gear shifters that don't work very well on the left side and a very worn chain and campag triple set. I'll stick a photo up once I've figured out how the hell to do it.

  • My Pearson "Now you see me" has been stolen from the back of my house near Burgess Park, SE15.

It's pretty much new, 19 inch frame, ambrosio wheels, green bar tape and Brooks saddle. Was used for commuting so had a rack and mudguards.

I'd be grateful for any information if somebody spots it, there aren't many around. I've had a look in some of the usual spots like Brick lane this morning.

    Here's a picture:

  • Sorry to hear that, both of you. Did both thefts occur yesterday/during the night? What a grimly ironic name 'Now you see me ...' is for a bike under the circumstances. Good luck getting them back!

  • Yeah happened overnight. Both me and Simon were awake most or last night due to my flatmates drunken houseguests pottering around so they must have been very quiet when they did it. My bike was behind two bikes so they managed to pull them out of the way and get mine out (which has a very loud clicky hub) in the cramped staircase without us hearing. Thankfully it was insured. Have reported online to police and task force.

  • Kat, that sucks bigtime. I'll keep an eye out, I live near you.

  • STOLEN. From outside of my house in Brockley SE4 on Friday evening. A Pearson IMNOTANUMBER. It has several upgrades including Chris King Hubs with H+ Son rims and a Garmin Edge 800. Any information leading to its recovery will be gratefully received with a potential reward if I can't get the insurance money. Please share with other bike friendly people, its only about 4 weeks old and to say I'm gutted is a massive understatement.

  • One of my flatmate's friends saw some blonde bloke leave my building with a green bike and another bike when she turned up at 10. Bold as fuck! Police are coming round tomorrow night.

  • Please keep your eyes peeled for Kat's bike online and IRL. Photo's up thread, a pinarello Treviso, carbon forks, 9 speed campag cassette. Not sure what wheel set but black hubs/spikes/rims radially spoked. Stolen from Herne hill so so especially lease look out if you're local

  • anyone had a black/red dogma stolen?

was walking to morden station and saw a guy in tracksuit/trainers riding one up to a house on abbotsbury road. without trying to profile the guy himself just thought it very odd that it was being ridden with trainers (and as i didn't hear him unclip as he got off i assume flat pedals).

was one of the frame sets with dogma written very large on the down tube not pinarello.

only info i can provide really is the address he was visiting (he knocked on the door). pm me if it's any help.

  • This red Cougar?

My dad's bike stolen from a bike storage locker in Islington. Wheels were Open 4CD and red/black tyres.

  • This is a 50cm square IIRC but pinarello hybrids are not common so if you see one second hand it is probably Kat's. And 3x9 speed set up to flat bars also r

I never noted down all the parts but chain set and derailleurs are campy; shifters Miche; cranks, seat post and brake calipers pinarello branded. Forks can't remember but carbon with a rake.

  • The brooks thieving cunt is on eBay still.....

    Tolpuddle-corner

    "IT'S A BROOKS...."

How the fuck is he still allowed to do this???
