That's a good attitude, let him know that's it's perfectly ok to hit someone from behind and do a runner as it turn out he won't get caught for it.
Karma won't work if you (or the bus company you worked for) don't prosecuted accordingly.
For a moment I thought you were hit from behind on a bicycle.
