Front page of the Times is hailing it's "Cities fit for cycling" campaign as being about to deliver a huge success for cyclists, it then lists the main goals, including fully segregated cycling routes, which I have to admit I had an immediate reaction against- I just don't think that partial segregation will improve matters.
The rest looked ok, I suppose.
I think segregated lanes would be EXCELLENT for the larger roads that connect different towns/cities. You know the bigger A roads with higher speed limits, loads of HGV's and stuff. Even motorways.
I think unmotorised traffic has the right to the convenience of this very direct straight networks that motorised traffic has.
Inside towns and cities, seperate lanes would absolutely suck balls.
