  • Urban Legends indefinitely.

  • Nice. Never seen that brand before. Shame there's not much technical information for each piece, hard to tell why some of them are 'cycling specific'.

  • It's a shame there isn't much in the way of ladies cycling specific stuff that is at the casual end generally...I'd be grateful if you could keep this thread up to date with the stuff TF get in. I'd like to see some of the Morvelo ladies stuff in an actual shop rather than online.

And nice one Jess on the new job! Where's the new shop?

I agree, kati got their winterbreaker jacket, you can always ask her to bring it over for you to have a look.

+1, awesome news. My friend, Adri, said he's also starting there soon.

And apparently the new shops location is a secret...for now anyway.

  • Thanks guys.

Some bargains to be had here: http://www.howies.co.uk/womens/last-in-the-box/last-in-the-box.html Heard good things about the jeans and chinos...

  • I was gonna start a pants thread, glad you guys are here!

what do you think re materials? I'm torn with viscose/bamboo/rayon cos it doesn't have much benefit other than softness (which is a plus, actually, alright) when it's not well-ventilated. any specific experiences with cotton vs poly mix vs polyester vs viscose vs {whatever else you find on your underwear labels} for comfort?

  • Ooooh thanks poots. Guess who's spending their payday money...

  • I've justified it as stuff I need for when I go to Italy - can be cycling up mountains looking like an overweight fakenger, right?

  • I'm gonna be starting at Tokyo Fixed's new store in a couple of weeks and I'll get a chance to advise on the new women's wear. What brands/kind of items do you think we should stock?

Yo! Still looking for brands. We're stocking Castelli and Cafe Du Cycliste for high end/road but I'd like mid price and casual stuff too! Some nice Fizik shoes coming in :)

  • do you have the castelli bra? I'd like to check one out in person...

  • ~~@ ed: I know this was a while ago, but how is the sizing on Urban Legend stuff? hooded tops come in S, M, L but with no clue what that means :/
would normally aim for an M but having just bought a size XL on annanichoola (XL=14, apparently), I'm not so sure.
gonna send them a message, anyway. ~~

Jess - selfishly seconding Urban Legend stuff... I want to buy some but not keen on paying €30 for delivery!

  • Hehe. Let me find out about bra...think its just bibs and jerseys atm.

There is some seriously discounted ladies vulpine buttondowns in the shop too...down to 49 from 75!

Btw, I am loving my Howies betws trousers. Amazing to ride in and polo proof. Shame they're out of stock or I'd buy more!

  • I have a pair and think they're great as well ! They're on sale on sportpursuit now.. can't decide if I should get another pair (black or dark blue??)

  • Amazing! Thanks so much, deffo buying a black pair then (I have light blue as they were only ones left in my size, they look a bit like the Rapha ones!)...

  • Also, why do you have to sign up? It's reaaaallllly annoying!

  • cheers jess.
I haz betws also (dark blue)... they are ok. not my fave, I feel like the fabric's a bit too thin maybe? not sure. maybe good for warmer weather.

also, in case anyone is interested in these, I got the bigger size and like, but these are just too small. make me an offer?

I have a pair of these, brand new with tags
    http://www.cyclesurgery.com/pearl-izumi-transfer-cycling-women's-liner/short-liners/bikes-components-bikewear/fcp-product/40345
I would exchange them for a bigger size but I ripped the box... they are size M, Pearl Izumi come up a bit small so maybe a size 10?
just paid £21, would like £15.

  • @ ed: I know this was a while ago, but how is the sizing on Urban Legend stuff? hooded tops come in S, M, L but with no clue what that means :/

Their small would be like between the Rapha XS and S's softshell jacket.

  • @ Hoefla: yeah I agree, definitely spring/summer trousers and not sure how they will hold up versus my brooks as the seat is not double lined like swrve etc but super comfy and look nice! Are those shorts SM or MD?

  • Pearl Izumi Medium - but really quite small (compared with other Pearl Izumi shorts). I can measure them but not going home tonight so not til tomorrow or friday night.

  • ok measurements off the undershorts:
    waistband unstretched: 67cm
    comfortable stretch to 72cm?
hips hard to measure maybe 86 unstretched, 94 stretched
    leg inseam length: 20cm
leg edge seam circumference: 40cm unstretched, 50 stretched

  • Anyone got any recommendations for a summer waterproof jacket?
Requirements are that it's light, folds up small and comes in black, and looks nice. Something softish too.
The only jacket I have is a fairly hefty decathlon one, which has been great in the winter but now getting a bit hot.

I'm also looking into new jeans, so gonna look into howies after the recommendations above.
Is anyone particularly keen on any high street brands that are comfortable to cycle in?

  • jeans - I like the el-cheapo uniqlo ones as they have a load of stretch...worth a try as they are cheap.
    :)

  • Not jeans, but I wear uniqlo 'easy leggings' which have back pockets and are made from a thick slightly ribbed material that makes them look more like trousers, and they're super-comfy and super-stretchy.

I love them so much I own them in four colours :) also they're only £14. Surprisingly none of them have started to wear on the bum yet despite wearing them almost exclusively through the winter.

Light waterproof jacket...Rapha. I literally cannot fault mine, it lives in the bottom of my bag and saves me every time there's an unexpected shower. I don't think the ladies cut comes in black but you could probably wear a mens XS.

  • Whats your budget Poppy? Also, what size jeans do you take? ie, could you wear small mens ones?
