Seems from the twitter exchanges the police did not attend.
-
• #7
Why the fuck not?!
-
• #8
Because thatchers sleeping in peace so they all went home for a cuppa? duh

They had 'other priorities'. If you have access to Twitter, look at the exchanges with @roseofwinter.
Confirms to me cops don't give a monkey's about cyclists. -

very good photos. crystal clear of the number plate and the two faces of the driver and passenger
and that tweeter has other eyewitnesses details besides ehr and the victim. including people that took photos.
surely this will result in a conviction. good work roseofwinter

Police have been so horrible to @roseofwinter on Twitter that she stopped exchanging tweets. Bet they do SFA unless really pushed.

good job this is an assault
is this what victim is thinking?
-
• #15
Higher chance of the police taking notice, which doesn't seemed to be the case judging this topic.

If I were ever hit by a driver that was an utter menace on the roads, and that punch then led to them losing their licence, I'm pretty sure I'd consider that a very small price to pay.

Those 'police' twitters could well be Walter Mittys. It looks like her call was misgraded to me - she should have got a quicker response to an assault with suspect making off. Possibly because Chancery Lane is on the border between City and Met ground it fell through the gaps on a busy day. Pretty bad service.
Hopefully she'll make a statement so the car can be stopped at a later date.

number plate should be AK-47 ... would be more apt
he seemed to have been driving like a weapon
-

I actually thought it was and started googling TTJ initials.. then realised.

I'm a member of a Mercedes forum and the CLS model gets noticed.
I've put a link up. -

^nice. is there a Spotted thread?
but surely the victim or any of the witnesses just need to go to a police station at their convenience, licence plates are registered.

Yes but the registered keeper is likely to say (s)he wasn't driving it at the time. Photos of the actual assailant should go to the police.

They have a picture of the driver... should be open and shut!

You can also see he got his seatbelt on, can hardly argue he's not in the driving seat.
At the junction with Gray's Inn Road, eastbound, saw a cyclist on the ground about car's length in front of the stopping line. A silver Mercedes (S class?) was stopped halfway between the two lane, pointing slightly to the left.
The cyclist got up with a bleeding nose and confronted the driver, dripping blood all over the tarmac. Both the driver (white middle-aged man) and the passenger (white middle-aged woman) was being very aggressive and kept yelling at the cyclist. Pedestrians took photos of the driver and the car, and after a while he drove off with blood stain on the driver's door.
Someone dialed 999 and gave the description of the driver and car. The hairdresser "Glamour House" across the road asked the injured cyclist to go in and rest while waiting for the ambulance. He was wearing a helmet and had a walkie talkie on his messenger bag. He was shocked and confused but remembered today's date. Witness says he was punched so I guess if there was a crash it wasn't too bad.
While I didn't see how it happened, seconds earlier I saw the same Mercedes speeding past and deliberately cut off the cyclist in front of me, then throwing verbal abuse through open windows before the cyclist could say anything. The cyclist who was cut off collected several witness' contacts and waited for the ambulance/police to come.
