Thanks all. Yeah it was a good weekend. Stag do actually. All my mates I grew up with we're snowboarding for a long weekend and I haven't done that in about 8 years since we've had kids. But I didn't want to miss out on the weekend so my brother and I decided to go along and take the bikes instead. Based in Morzine we were very lucky with the weather and managed 3 1/2 days of unbelievably good riding. The main road to Avoriaz was clear so we rode that a couple of times and although the Joux Plane and Joux Verte weren't passable (still ski runs for the upper sections) there was still plenty of climbing challenges on offer. The temps were in the mid twenties and the sun was plentiful.
The boarders had good snow and we had incredible riding conditions. Win win. There were no other riders to be seen on the cols or mountains but there were a few locals on the flats in the valleys in Saturday and Sunday. It felt like the med on the lower slopes and yet there was 9ft of snow banked on the roads in some places on the cols and in the ski resorts. Loved it.
