  • Hooking can be very effective though. You hook your opponent so that they can't play the ball then play the ball away from them. Being hooked is annoying its just true, but i cant see how we can stop it as it is A: effective B: Better than hacking, which people still do all the time and never get called out on.
Personally i would like to see a total ban on hacking whether you are slapping an opponent away because they are reaching for the ball. Back slashing or swinging wildly at a mallet. Some player refuse to allow the player behind them to try and reach in without slashing back at them. I do tell these players, (being a wallflower it is hard, but i try) and it still does not stop. In Rouen, Polo (Paul) slashed my mallet backwards so hard it went under my front wheel and flipped me off. I consider this a mallet under wheel and a slash its a ball turnover at least. It being france and a world champ i'm sure you will fall off your chair to hear no one said a thing. Polo did at least say "are you ok, Brendeen?" Which was nice.

Any kind of slash back, however hard to 'warn' the opponent off should be a penalty i think. Its aggressive, haughty and just plain rude. Dribble out of it, deal with it.
