Change the bars and it's much better looking than the Hinde, plus you have enough spare cash after trading in the bars to get it Armourtexed in your favourite clour.

it's the weird slope on the top tube towards the seat tube that is the worst part, and the seat tube wheel arch part.

You're nitpicking frame details when the competition is this atrocity? Whatever.

I'm just a sucker for an ISP.

The Felt is an awesome buy at that price (not quite so hot at £1300) but I'd still plump for the Hinde; overkill on the street perhaps but perfectly acceptable at the velodrome.
-
• #307
Doesn't that Hinde frame/fork weigh more than 4kg?
-
• #308
I thought weight isn't a major concern in track racing?
-

Weight of the rider.

Wiggle have Felt TK2s in their January Sale at £715 http://www.wiggle.co.uk/felt-tk2-track-bike-2011/ with SRAM Omniums, 42mm deep rims, and 3T Sphinx bars which you can flog for about £100 more than the cost of Deda Pistas, if you don't want the weird bars. Makes the Hinde look massively overpriced at £700.
Sorry to bump up an old thread but the search was being used for info on the TK2.
I've been looking for an alu frame for a while to ride on the street but also use to get into track racing. I was going to built something up from a frame set, felt tk2 i was thinking, but wiggle have the sale on again and they're £780.
What are the stock rims and hubs like? Are they worth anything brand new, to sell and then build something better up? Beyond the Omnium, which are awesome, what are the other components like, forks, seatpost?
Thanks.

That bike is ready to go apart from the bars which are silly. You can usually sell them for £100 and replace with a good set for less.

Is there a rule with crank length on track? I notice the 58 comes with 170 cranks. Would 165 be better for track? I've ridden 170s on my steamroller for the past year, so not adverse to the.

The high BB-height makes170 safe on track.
-
• #314
Thanks, that makes lots of sense.
Anyone had experience of the stock rims and hubs? Read a few marred reviews through google. -

I'm interested in buying a set of Sphinx bars if anyone was to buy a TK2.
I thought I would put that out there (I also have a Wanted thread).

There's a broken set in the Iso container I keep my track bike in, i don't think they like crashing

I have just sold my red Planet X frame so I'm looking for a replacement for Herne Hill.
Any advice on 'true' track carbon frames?
Cheers

Why did you sell the PX? What are you looking for in a replacement?
-
• #322
I had the PX since July 2011 and I had a good offer on the frame only so I pulled it apart and sold it.
Not sure what I am look for in a replacement really. My track skills aren't amazing and now, thinking of it, I would sound like a big girl if I said it must look good...
I used to really like my old Look 464, I should have kept that one for track duties

I have very little track experience but I'm loving the seta for road use, stiff enough, comfy, cheap and a wide range of sizes.

I missed out on that Seta frameset that has just sold on here for £350.
A Seta would be pretty good

When I start frequenting HH you can have a go on it.
Dolan was selling one for £400 again a couple of weeks ago due to TT scratching.
that's pretty good actually. Shame they look horrible.
