Do DMR not do a single speed/disc hub? Swear I've seen one with a short cassette body for just one or two cogs & lockring, about £45 with decent bearings (mine have lasted 7 years of serious business abuse on MTB) and reasonable quality freehub (non servicable, just replace every 3-4 years, they only cost about £12).
