I'm typically running 155psi on clinchers and considerably higher on tubulars for normal road racing. Weighing in at 90kg this morning I suppose that technically I fall into the "fattie" category as I'm arguably heavy despite the fact that I'm rather tall and by no means fat as such.
Admittedly high tire pressure do not yield a particular comfortable ride, and may occasionally need to be lowered depending on the quality of the road surface. I'm however somewhat puzzled how you can claim, if I understand you correctly, that lower tire pressure let alone wider rims in general will not affect rolling resistance???
I should add, that I run 22mm clincher rims with 23c tires, and 21mm tubular rims with 22c tubular tires respectively.
Totally off topic but... read this. It's as good a summary as any and Scoblism free. Wider rims (with all else equal) = lower pressure and no more tendency to pinch.
