I have a pair of kursks and haven't noticed anything off about the heel, just make sure you follow the advice about sizing on the chrome website.
Bought the same pair recently as well, got to say they get comfy the more you get accustomed to it. Still stiff as a board though

What model did you guys have to trim? Anyone know if the chrome midways accept time cleats?
Also I saw reviews of the chrome kursks and people were saying that the heel was too low on the back, did anyone on here find that to be the case, and is it a problem
My midways are fine with Time cleats, didn't have to trim them at all. I do prefer the Midways over the Kursks though, I find the Midway holds my foot a lot better than my old Kursks, feels more secure with the higher heel.

I got the chrome mids recently, they've been ok, strange for me to wear spds all day working but not too weird. Then, one day during the snow a few weeks back, whilst off the bike walking around the studios I was at getting lunch etc they let water in around the cleat hole... which I thought was a bit shit. I mean, letting water in the upper after a consistent soaking is one thing, but letting water in through the sole seems a bit rubbish.

My kursks started to let in water in their second winter of walking around in snow and slush but a bit of duck tape sorted it out. One of the guys I work with has the dzr strasse and they sucked up water through the cleat from day one…neither of these shoes are advertised as being even a little bit water-proof though!

Thought that was normal, I have to put a sticker inside the soles that come with my Shimano shoes to prevent water from getting in.
Like other said duct tape will be enough.

Don't the DZRs come with such stickers too? I sort of remember mine did.
-

The DZRs I have were pre sealed, so no need for sticky faff.

Yes, I actually remember that it does.

My chrome shoes (recieved as a replacement for the chrome shoes which had a split sole) have a split sole now too. damn you skids.

I'm going to have to contact DZR I reckon. Mine have been a bit falling apart ever since I got them but I've lived with the tatty bits and lumpy bits, the cleat plate came unstuck the other week and I was going glue it back but now the sole has torn apart. :(

No skidz in mine, plenty of polos though.

My OG DZR shoes were ace, lasted a couple of years before the sole started coming off, and i did wear them everyday.
Chrome's look a bit poor in comparison.

If you don't mind a quick International call, call them, don't bother with emails. They are rubbish with it. A gent called Austin is dealing with me, he is responsive! :-) My replacement should be in London anytime now!!

I'll see how much that costs and maybe give it a try.

If anyone wants to buy a new pair of DZR Mamba X in EU41, send me a message. Worn them once but my feet are far too narrow for them...

I have these and have put up with much abuse off-road and when riding fixed. The main problem is it like a sponge in the rain.

After weeks of waiting and the guys from DZR allegedly forgot to bring me my replacement shoes from the US when they visited London, they got Always Riding to send me my replacement pair on Wed, 2 days after I asked them where are my shoes... I didn't even buy my shoes from them... Nice people from DZR but not efficient and organized enough for my liking.

Interesting to read opinions/experiences.
I'm in the market for spd shoes now since I've just broken a pair of Bontrager Street shoes. Had for around 2years or so, not bad I guess. Real shame as the uppers still look spanking new!Think I'd prefer to get 'casual' ones this time round and was keen on either Chrome or DZR, now not so sure... any suggestions on shops in London wear can try them on?

Fitzrovia and Tokyo Fixed both hold quite a lot of Chrome in stock and I think cycle surgery stock DZR

Been loving my shimano MTB shoes since I've had them, they're pretty casual looking too and not too bad for a bit of walking.

DZR Concubines on SportPursuit for £52 right now.

I take whatever I said again chrome kursk pro back;
Before: Reading forum wank buying online as it's cheap innit and feel like a chump for getting good value and end up buying 2 size bigger than required resulting in lots of heel rub and negative opinion about the shoe.
After: Reading forum wank, going to tokyo fixed trying around 3 different sizes on and paying what the shoes and the service/shop deserves.
Lovely shoes I must say, stiffer than I thought they'd be. I only have a mild criticism about the length of shoe lace, could be less but what do I know!?
