That langster that 'sold' for £14,500 has got a very pissy owner. I messaged him in a moment of irritation explaining why it hadnt sold/why it was overpriced and he replied:
'Not quite sure what to make of your questions, or the point of it to be honest.....
If you read the item description you will note that it would probably cost in the region of around £850 to build this bike. I would suggest one starts with the retail price of the standard steel Langster - this frame is no longer even available let alone in the condition it is in. You can then add to that the cost of the components, all of which were bought separately. When I said new, I really mean it. New and unused. I built the bike for fun because I felt like it. The wheels and nitto risers and stem alone total around £300. I don't cut corners and don't use second hand parts. The only thing that remains standard is the frame and forks. £800+ is not that much, Jesus, I have two road bikes the cumulative value of which is eye-watering. So in the scheme of things £800 is nothing. If you really want to see an over priced single speed bike I would look at Brick Lane Bikes - that's a rip off !!
I've looked at the examples you have sent me ??? No comparison. Totally different bikes, frames, components and running gear. One is pure track and has no brakes at all.....
Unfortunately some twat disrupted my auction with a fake bid of £14,700 which ruined it for others. **What he didn't realise is that I am a Lawyer and have legal proceedings waiting in the side lines dependding on what Ebay do about him. lol Silly boy.
**
Anyway, I may re-list the bike once I've dealt with idiot aforementioned. I won't accept much less than £550 for it unless you have a sensible offer to make....... I'll sooner put it in the loft than give it away, it's not as though I am making a profit from it.......... Sometimes it's not worth my time to auction certain things on Ebay given the rediculous offers. We all want something for nothing........ -

I got a mate selling a chrome langster totally original and ridden literally around the block and all he is hoping for is to get back what he paid for it new... 390!

I'd love to see a copy of the 'legal proceedings' he's hoping to bring against this guy

And the "twat" who bid 14k, I guess probably had received a similar response and deserves to also receive a pat on the back.

So nearly went for this. If I had the space to store it and could justify a nice fixed road bike with mudguards in addition to the not so nice fixed road bike with mudguards I already have.
I got some extra pics from the seller and it is in immaculate time-warp condition.
Fortunately he has an idea of what it's worth so at least I didn't have to watch someone else get a bargain.
If he relists it I might need an intervention. -

What a coincidence that the seller has the same name as you?! Read the rules, can't advertise your own auctions on here.
