i can see the project outcome better with the frameset in this context
and at the moment the seat tube length doesn't seem an issue -

They're not ceramic. But CD.
They're coated in a powder.
Ceramic are silver.Yep. You're right, I meant CD, obviously.
And in response to the other guy - because they're sexy as fuck.

Sort out bar angle and different (read Dura Ace) seatpost and it's porn.
Hadn't noticed bar angle until you pointed it out. I ride them like that and find them comfortable in the drops, but for porn purposes I see what you're saying.
Semi on the look out for a DA seatpost already, but not top of my list right now. Might try it with a silver one and see how it looks, it's hard to see anything above DEM WHEELS though.

Ceramic are silver.None of this makes sense.
In Mavicese:
CD=Couche Dure, hard anodised, dark grey.
Ceramic = plasma sprayed ceramic, black (alumina + titanium for Ceramic2, not sure about the first generation but I suspect the Ti binder was the upgrade) coating on the brake surface. Some old Mavic rims had the ceramic coating over silver rims, but most are CD grey on the remaining surfaces.
SUP = Soudé Usine Process, meaning welded (as opposed to sleeved or pinned) at the rim joint. It has been applied to most higher level Mavic rims since the 1990s -

TBH, I always thought they were interchangeable - a quick google told me otherwise. -

Sure is bought the frameset as it was quite cheap I think it may turn out to be one of my favourites it's bonkers light.

Alu or Carbon? What's the story with those frames? Did they just buy out a company or something?

Why Mavic don't also sell CXP 33s in this finish is beyond me. I think they'd look nice (and not unlike H+Son Archetypes). -
• #75891
Because they can't really be bothered with selling CXP33 rims anymore. They stopped making a silver version a few years ago. If they made a wider version in silver or CD / Exalith they'd sell a few to the Archetype market but it's probably not really worth them tooling up for it.

Yes carbon sab was a small bike company in San Marino Planet X bought it and its stock.

why you need ceramic with no brakes
Back in the day I often rode open pro ceramics on fixed for precisely this reason.. The coating was shite and bits flaked off making them good only for brakeless.

• #75894
compared to my other mtb frameset , the tt is similar and to that which is my norm for road, but the seat tube is smaller
so I hope it's not too smallHad no idea that Pinarello and Cologno make mtbs.

Haven't taken a picture yet, but Dave Hinde arrived yesterday and he is great. Still undecided on whether or not I want to paint it...

Just found this in my dad's garage, remembered he had a stash of old frames, think this is all thats left after a recent clearout.
Does anyone know much about Quinn frames?
Im a bit baffled by the serial number as i thought early models all started with Q
Some crazy lugs on the forks and the paintwork, even tho pretty fcuked, is an incredible pearlescent creamy white with a slight sparkle in it where there are clean patches
may have just found my next project.....
any thoughts or tips, maybe a couple of Quinn experts out there?..

In an update of this, ive just found a little more info, turns out it could be an 80's Quinn frame
There are three bikes about 7 from the bottom of this list which all look pretty much the same style lug work etc:

hey guys
I need some advise on my Atala Porteur Conversion
all started out 3 years ago like this
I stripped the braze-ons and repainted it with Pantone 362c in my HHSB-time to ride it fixed and singlespeed for a couple of years...I got tired of this shit and decided to build a gentleman porteur...so it looks like this:
things to decide:
- original Wingnuts? Dont want my wheels get taken away but they look pretty rad
- how do I mount the headbadge I found on ebay.it for 10€? shall I drill holes and rivet it inside or just glue it on?
- IMPORTANT: how can I install my brakecables on these Tektro inverse levers without using force and destroy the route because the radius is too tight?
- I've redone the stickers in Illustrator. "Handmade in Italy" slogan still missing, but printing them would cost 35€...any good?
- is there any minimalistic chainguard that you can recommend? riding Shimano 600 Arabesque crankset
pretty tight clearances
thanks for your help...

Yes. If I ever build a set of wheels from scratch I'm leaning towards TB14s though. They've got it ALL.
