methebmxer - I'd suggest posting it on somewhere like Singletrackworld as they've had a good amount of success at spotting nicked mountainbikes (as long as they're custom or rare).

Thieving cunts.
Was in the barbican between 10:30 and 12:30 and had my cockpit stolen.
Cult stem and 3" uncut open prisons with ODI XL grips. They even stole the fucking compression bolt so I can't just borrow somebody else's bars for the ride home.

A good friend's Merckx MX-Leader (which I built for him) taken in burglary from his home in SE26. It's plain red, 56cm square, full Veloce 10s UltraShift/UltraToque black groupset with skeleton brakes, Chorus carbon seat post, Campag Neutron wheels. At time of theft was shod with Vittoria Open Pavé green tyres. Please PM if any sightings of bike or parts for sale, or if they're stupid enough to be seen riding it.

My bike was stolen on Saturday afternoon from Belsize Road.
Bike is pretty much as seen from the above, except the wheels are Fulcrum Racing 7s, with black 35mm slick Nomad Resist tyres. Handlebar tape was also replaced with red and black Fizik tape.
Other distinguishing features:
- Black cross-top levers
- Black TRP CX9 mini v brakes
- Groupset (Campagnolo Centaur) - the RH lever is chipped, and the rear derailleur is also quite scratched where the carbon is, from a fall.
- Crankarm has 11 printed on it, although it's 10 speed
- It has two bottle cages mounted (one carbon Use and the other Tacx), both attached with rubber ties (no bottle cage bosses),
- Has a front mudguard flap with rubber and cable ties attached.
- Exposure handlebar mount
- Pinhead skewers
I'm not holding out much hope, but if anyone spots it, please let me know.

Gutted for you :( I've been on many good rides with you and that bike for company. Let me know if you need any Brick Lane support this weekend.

Did we decide that it was a good idea to post how bikes are stolen, what locks, how long they were left for, etc? Or no?

My bike was stolen on Saturday afternoon from Belsize Road....
With endless thanks to Howard, I nearly have my bike back!
The bike has been seized by the police, and I have left a statement. I'll know more in the next couple of days in terms of when I can expect to collect it.
I'm not sure what details I'm allowed to give, but will post as soon as I confirm that (along with the details of how it was stolen). -

My bike was stolen on Saturday afternoon from Belsize Road.
My bike is now home, recovering from its ordeal. I for one am somewhat undeservingly lucky to get it back.
I was stupid enough to leave my bike unlocked outside a Chinese takeaway, whilst I was inside ordering food. It was leant up against the shop window, in full view, with me metres away (albeit indoors).
I then saw some guy make a grab for it...by the time I was able to react and get out the door, he was halfway down the street, and me making chase in SPD shoes was pretty futile. So as you can read, there were no damaged locks, just a careless eejit.
A few days later, the bike was spotted for sale in a bike shop in Queensway, and the police were called. Long story short, the bike was seized by the police so they can do their business. The bike shop didn't dispute ownership of the bike (I guess they admitted they should have done more to authenticate the owner), so I was able to collect it today.
I'm totally shocked, but obviously over the moon to get it back. I do feel guilty given that there are others who have had their pride and joy taken away under different circumstances, never to see it again.
Not much more to say apart from thanks again to Howard.
If anyone wants any specific information, do get in touch.
