The bike was clean, then ridden into deep mud where it stopped and fell over to the right.

Super nice.

Look like fat Pasellas to me.
I'd have thought definitely 700 as the Italians didn't go for 650b and the canti mounts would be in the wrong place.Very nice bike.
Which Stronglight/TA copy chainset is that?

Which Stronglight/TA copy chainset is that?
They're Planet X Touring, 48x34
Bit of a stretch to call it a touring crankset where only the big ring is slightly smaller than a typical compact (and can't go smaller than 34t).
-

Isn't it just that they're close together in size to limit the jumps from a wide range cassette?
TBH I thought a touring double was just the old fashioned phrase for a compact crankset. "Compact" sounds a bit sexier than "touring".

Touring double would have a much smaller inner as well as outer (28/44, 30/46 and 32/48 from the top of my head).
There's very few manufacturer that actually make proper double touring crankset, Sugino is the only one (AFAIK) that make an external BB version called the OX801D Compact Plus+.

I'll take your word for it.
As I said, I just thought it was all pretty much a re-branding.
-
• #3798
Probably is, was very popular in the early 20th Century, mainly due to the small block of the freewheels.

Inherited my dads mid 80's Dawes Super Galaxy, popped on a Wald 137 i had lying around until i get a proper porteur rack sorted (thinking the Minoura), probably also move the shifting up to bars with some thumb shifters...

That's an odd design decision on the chainset. It looked as though it would have an 80 bcd for the inner ring like stronglight/TA but it says 110. Are the inner bolts just to attach the outer ring to the crank or what?
Submerged in water perhaps?
