Sand papering the bontys was a pain; learnt through experience never to buy halfords wet and dry. Will post a pic when I get them on.

Thanks to all the contributors to this post who have helped to make my ride far more comfortable

those levers look very akward to use in the drops though

On the bontys? Are a bit but its my fault for pushing them up so far. I'm mainly on the top or riding on the hoods so its not too bad. Haven't ridden on it too much yet though so may yet agree as one of the reasons for fitting compacts was easier and more stable access to drops!

I've just ordered some of these.
I have no idea if they'll be any good, but I don't think they've had a mention yet.,,
These just arrived - they are fucking heavy (like, steel heavy), and the build quality is shite. The reason these don't come in silver is that they would probably look a mess without the super-thick white cosmetic cover-up.
They also sent me 36's when I asked for 38's... so hopefully I can just send them back. The Bontrager ones are way, way better!

(I did get a free ruck-sack though, oddly)

If you want silver go for the soma ones. A bit more expensive but I paid out the delta in sandpaper and the anodising was so hard that sanding down was a nightmare

I've got those Rose ones too, shape is good, but quality is indeed not that good. Rose however has good service, but from now on you will receive their catalogues a lot ;p.

I want to buy the Bontrager bars, but been having trouble finding them in a store that ships to Chile.
I found them here:
http://www.tts-store.de/epages/62044207.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62044207/Products/Bon-12180/SubProducts/Bon-12180-0003Has anyone here bought from them or have another alternative?

Anybody know any compact shiney bars that aren't too expensive, don't fancy splashing out on Nittos?
-
• #117
The Soma Hwy One are shiny and silver, as mentioned three posts above yours.
-
• #118
still a bit pricey for me, was looking for something sub 20 really.
-
• #119
What compact drop can you get for sub 20?
-
• #120
I think you'll be eBay shopping at that price.
-
• #121
i shall have a look, i thought a compact bar was just a bar with a shallow drop?
-
• #122
And short reach.
-
• #123
*shorter than usual reach
-
• #124
well the my reach is fine so maybe i just need some shallow drops. Anybody know of any shiney silver relatively shallow drop bars?
