No worries. I got the vegan pepperoni one last night, pretty spicy. My girlfriend had a roast harvest, half with cheese (she is vegetarian), half without. Both of us enjoyed them and I polished off my remainders for a mid morning snack today.
The Tuesday 2 for 1 offer is well worth it. Their bases and sauces still dont taste as good as the Libertine, but for a delivery place it's decent. The pizzas were still hot when they arrived (as opposed to the tepid pizzas that come from Firezza) and delivery was bang on the specified time as well (45 mins). I think overall I'll give them a four out of five.
Cheers for the recommendation lulav and lucyh. My girlfriend just had a baby three weeks ago, so there have been numerous nights where we're exhausted and cant be fucking bothered with cooking. It's a good option available to us.

Do they have an eat in option for north London on tour?
-
• #1131
Kev, bring some to me next Tuesday. Then we can discuss the pub quiz.
Hmm, that sounds reasonable, actually.

Ha, welcome, Vegan Bike Nerd House. I take it the full run-down is privatepatterson, xtomorx, lulav, lucyh, and Bobbygp? (Trying a bit of amateur stalking via the BToB thread and probably being horribly wrong.)
Definitely up for a ride of some description. Shame Village Pizza isn't an eat-in restaurant, but I'm sure we'll find a good one to go to. I'm always up for RASA.

^ BToB thread?
^^^ nhatt, no eat in option. Burgess Park has some seating near their BBQ units if you wanted to tramp it.
^^ Mrak, bring some to you where? South Polo Towers? I'm not carrying a pizza box from Old Kent Rd to your place on the bike....
But if you want to meet at your place next Tuesday evening I can do that. We could order in. Turdan said to me he's sometimes based out working in Wandsworth Road so he could come meet us south before he heads back up north.Better start working on my questions... ffs...

The Web page says no delivery to sw2. Racists. Bring it! Come onnnn!

That website is an outdated / erroneous pile of shit. I'd just call them up and ask.
Nhatt maybe one of the pubs around there would be alright with you bringing one in, if you bought some pints? The Thomas A'Becket wouldnt as they serve food, but maybe the Nelson down the road might be cool with it? They might not serve north London hipsters though.
-
• #1136
Or Mrak, maybe we could link up in the Nelson? Dont worry, I'll protect you.

This is the proper website for Village Pizza, menu and everything works totally fine for me... http://www.villagepizzauk.com/order.php has the Southwark one opened only recently? I've eaten from the branch in Surbiton before, and it's pretty excellent- not quite as good as Pepe Nero in Bristol which also has a whole bunch of vegan options
Also totally up for a vegan food ride, or some kind of forum vegan social event!

Speaking of vegan pizzas, I had a pretty decent one at the Gallery cafe in Bethnal green last night. Hadnt heard of the place before but I was heading to Old Blue last for a gig and a few folks on the FB event page were suggesting it. Was pleasantly surprised, decent size, vegan cheese (and ham if you want) and all for a fiver.
I would also definitely be up for a vegan food ride, or some kind of forum vegan pizza run.

Good effort but not quite there.
I'm the son of a butcher and I'm from "The North". I genuinely didn't know what a vegan was until I moved to London... and I was 22 when I first ate hummus so no, I'm not in the vegan house despite knowing how fun it would be to live there!

We could do a pizza picnic in Burgess Park in the summer?? We live literally opposite the park gym bit. So could order the pizzas to ours then sit in BBQ bit with some brews and our bikes.
Good Guess Oliver but it's xtomorx, lucyh and I, plus 2 others not on the forum :) -

hehe :) close though!

that sounds AMAZING. however in lieu of what would probably essentially be a pizzeria crawl (maybe we can do this another time?) maybe we could start in camden, or islington, or even warwick avenue further back along the canal, and cycle along to Victoria Park and end up in Gallery Cafe? they do quite a few vegan options (it's all vegetarian) and as clockwork_killa mentioned the pizzas are really good. the staff are overworked and underpaid so the service can be a bit loose sometimes but it's a lovely place, and the food is generally great apart from the occasional blip.
when would be good for people? how are sundays?
-
• #1143
The sooner the better! Having said that, would be a tad nicer to do it when it finally stops snowing and gets above 10 degrees.
-
• #1144
true. i've heard it's supposed to be below average temperature for at least the whole of april though :(
-
• #1145
Perhaps start at a food place, stuff ourselves, then see if the weather is nice enough to go for a pootle afterwards?
-
• #1146
vegan kebab run by the vegan food co-operative my housemate's involved with is running a stall today in west norwood if anyone's around? at the junction outside the church. xtomorx and i are just pootling down there now...

This sounds like a splendid idea. I haven't been to Gallery nearly enough. I could do 21st April and 5 May.
If anyone wants to do Rasa any time I wouldn't need any persuading. -
• #1148
i can also do both of those (21st & 5th)! for anyone who's interested this is the vegan kebab (seitan steak sliced from one of those real vertical kebab turner things), comprehensive salad, garlic sauce and chilli sauce, wrapped and grilled. REALLY GOOD.
-
• #1149
where is the vegan kebab place?
-
• #1150
no fixed abode, but they have the stall at various places - they've been at bonnington cafe in oval before and are (i think) at west norwood feast every month. according to my housemate they'll be in brockwell park in two weeks
Amazing! Works out pretty cheap with the 'any two' or 'triple treats' deals.
Glad they don't bother with vegan cheese, bit of a pointless expense when I've had it before (Grove in Leeds).
reppedkevin.
