    ^^ But this is the thing. If you can successfully avoid a drunk driving charge by merely leaving the scene, the punishment for this should be in excess of the charge which you can avoid. I thought that it was similar thinking which lead to perjury being so serious an offence. If you can lie in court to avoid being convicted for murder, then the punishment for that lying must be serious in itself.

    What I am saying is that this woman should have the book thrown at her... she should be made to wish she had stuck around, taken the drink driving charge and only lost her license. The charge for leaving the scene should be leaving your license at least. And in most cases should involve losing a limb or having to sacrifice your first born or something.
