Ok some one should explain this to me. How does one give out rep? And is nerg the opposite of rep? And why is it so important? And where do I see my rep/nerg level or whatever?
-
• #6028
See below my name it says 'report' and 'comment'?Well you hit 'comment' then either approve or disapprove.

Oh n it's not that important when a forumenger posts a classified ad their rep category is shown in the OP and can be a good indicator of whether they are trustworthy or not.

did you cut the seat stay out yourself or is that just an optical illusion ?
-
• #6039
I cut it out then plated it up. When I first shortened the chainstays the I measured it to the tyre I was using at the time. When I replaced the tyre the wheel wouldn't fit! Due to the BB being higher with the new geo the cutout isn't perfectly in line with the tyre but it's close enough. Half an hours work with a grinder and a file.
My brother will be taking it with him to work on monday to face the BB and ream the headset, hopefully he will fit a headset and a quill adapter for me. The seattube is ok but needs reaming, I did what I could with a file. Need to find a shop with a 27mm reamer. I don't think there's enough thickness in the tube wall to ream it out to 27.2mm

What exactly is a beater and what exactly is the criteria for posting your bike in this thread; allegedly favouritism will be given to any old rusty machine, but is wear and tear, let alone systematic negligence really necessary for a bike to qualify as a beater?

A beater is generally a commuter/everyday/pub bike put together cheaply from the parts' bin, a rat is a good bike with good spec that is very well used, and a franken, well they're just monsters.
No washing or negligence doesn't count for anything IMO. Just because your commuter is covered in road paste doesn't make it fish or flesh, just a dirty bike.

stickers and grime do not make a good rat. years of use and wear and tear do... you cant just slap a load of stickers on lock it up a few times and not clean it for a week and say 'look how rad and ratty my bike is' or you can, but not many people will agree with you..

Does breaking your other bike surely not teach you riding this is probably not a good idea?
Almost tempted to nerg you for this. Rep should be earned. This just makes mockery of it.
