    on top of that: interesting point being made by the Sporza commentators was that his knowledge of the race's course has to improve. knowing the lines (e.g. to ride the footpath instead of the road at the right time) and conditions, what gear to choose on the cobbled climbs (not too small so you can still accelerate without shifting) etc.

    he's super talented (duh) silly strong and can handle a bike on any surface far better than most in the peloton, but this is absolute major league bike racing in which you can't afford to freestyle your way through, or smoke up most of your team members 'cause you missed the break.
