I feel the same! I use Reader all day, and apparently many others do too judging by the huge migration to Feedly. I can't imagine why google thinks this is a good idea. They say it isn't worth the resources.
I've been using Feedly for a week now and it's pretty nice. They've set it up so that it syncs with your Reader for now, and when google pulls the plug they'll already have an easy way to migrate.
