I think you've confused the Spyre with the HY/RD. The Spyre is a cable operated brake made interesting because it doesn't have a static piston.

The Spyre must be the one, like the IRD Dualbangers. Makes a lot of sense on paper. But they died out pretty quickly. Hopefull this time more care will be taken.
