Looks like a neater version of the Hope V-twin, but with a much longer cable run. I'm failing to get excited about this. There are inherent disadvantages to both hydraulics and cables. Spyre will pressumbly have both.

I think you've confused the Spyre with the HY/RD. The Spyre is a cable operated brake made interesting because it doesn't have a static piston.
FWIW I share your doubts on hybrid systems.
