Best cyclocross bike under £1000 and other CX chat

The stem is that way for general commute (8 degree), I always find it hard to find bikes for the right size, but was told before purchasing this one by another LBS to go for a 58cm frame!!

I think you could have gotten the same contact triangle out of a frame a size bigger. Which would have looked far better in photos, as the stem would have been slammed.
