that's not entirely true, if you have to drop bombs for your job (that you chose to do) then putting a pic of a cat on them may be a way for the soldier concerned to alleviate some of the torment of being paid to potentially kill people.
It says "DIE"

It's this jovial attitude to murder that lead to the slaughtering of children, and the torture of prisoners by bored, crazed british and american troops.
Nope, it's dumb politicians sending soldiers into those places that leads to all that stuff. I doubt whether a soldier's propensity for using humour correlates positively with his propensity to rape, murder and torture.

I would refer you to the picture of the grinning American servicewoman giving the thumbs up and pointing at a hooded, naked iraqi. Her amusement at the suffering of this man is a symptom of her dehumanisation. Any humour in this context is deeply sick. I agree that governments are to blame.

^^ still, it's more appropriate than Nick Cage riding a dinosaur on a bomb.

that is fucking disgusting
wouldn't you rather be killed by a tormented soldier than a happy-go-lucky one? A jovially applied bayonet to the ribs? Now there's a strain of job satisfaction that would make me hurl.
