No didn't get resolved. Leaning towards carbon. I think Fox's carbon audax bike is a good example. Or a CAAD_ or vintage steel. Mr Pink's seem to be a bit expensive for my liking. I know its Zona - but still. Very pricey, and not that nicey.

IMHO, best material for the money is a decent alu frame bicycle with 105+ than a carbon of similar value.
