Everything Apple (the Mac heads thread)

Gave up with a torrent of SL which was taking days. Discs should arrive this week anyway. But jesus i can't believe the OS/software compatibility issues you get with Mac. Just found out I can't run icloud on anything older than Lion.

I have a manky piece of shit 7+ year old Toshiba laptop with MS Vista on which I'm perefctly able to run the latest versions of itunes with the cloud etc. How on earth can Apple justify that? It's bananas.

This is the #1 thing that fucks me off with apple products, the forced obsolescence. Especially now with App store where you can only DL the latest versions of things, so if you've got an older iphone and you want say a compatible version of Evernote (which fuckin exist, the were widely available a few years ago) you cannot get one for love or money.
Unlike regular computer applications where you can just DL/Buy an older version (vendors tend to still offer them, even if there's limited updates/support) but with Apple controlling the only way to get software (apart from jailbreak) it's no longer possible.

Massively cunty thing to do and will do them no favours in the long term, treating their customers like an endless cash reserve.
I like their products/user interfaces but their attitude sucks.
