2cm seems a lot to lower the post by in one go - will always feel weird doing it that way. I would drop it by 5mm increments, and nudge it back on the rails a little each time you lower it, then move it forward if necessary.
It's worth keeping in mind that bike fit isn't a magic equation - there are certain basic rules you apply, and after that it's a continual process of trial/error and minor adjustments as you body changes. Going to see a fitter will get you set up properly, but don't expect that to be a 'forever' fit - your body and position will change as your riding does.
I still have occasional days when I want my saddle just a touch further back, higher or further forward, or maybe angled down slightly if I'm riding aggresively - it really depends on the kind of riding I'm doing and how well I've been keeping up with stretching etc.
