Ha ha, repped.
In all seriousness though, I'm 5'10" and I'm on a large frame with a 10deg stem and 30mm of spacers. I know some people will say that running 30mm of spacers is shit and you should have a pointy up stem but i've got the bars where I need em and I think it looks better this way, on this bike anyway.
Nicest Pomp on teh'web.

Bloody hell dron, your Pompetamine is going to weigh half what mine does. When's it gonna be finished?

New guy here. Left London a year ago for the sunny shores of the Pacific, but thankfully we have an On-One distributor just up the coast. Mine's a 2012 Large, and it's getting a mix of old and new bits thrown at it.
Will update as and when the components roll in.

Anyone know if the 42c continental cyclocross reflex cx tyres fit on the new pompinos?

Unlikely, I couldn't get 700x40C slicks in my Pompetamine

Hello from Switzerland!
I´m very much considering getting a pompino, but I´ve managed to confuse myself a bit on the specs. Specifically, I´m not sure what parts to order. Basically, you guys get this stuff alot cheaper than we do down here continental-wise, so I want to order as many parts as possible from on one/planet X.
The drivetrain is what confuses me most. I was thinking of getting the Sugino RD2 messenger chainset, which seems to want to be paired to a 103mm bottom bracket, resulting in a chain line of 45 mm. Now I have a rear wheel I want to use that has a Phil Wood track hub, which apparently (haven´t measured it tbh, this is just what the internet tells me) has a 42 mm chain line. Can anyone confirm this? And if it´s true, how could I get these parts aligned??? Other/better crank/bb combos available from planetx/on one??
Also I would love recommendations on headset, seatpost and some thoughts on the On One Mungo handlebar.
Oh. And I´m planning on sticking the pompetamine (??) disc fork in this baby .. is that a feasible idea? Really want a disc up front. Color me goofy.
thanks for any insights

Hello.
The Sugino-Phil drivetrain combo has been run without issue. Check here for a list of what's worked for forum people over the years.
I'm not a fan of northroad/mungo/mary bars for anything. I like the OnOne Fleegle though – awesome on a 29er or fixieskidder around town, with just a little more sweep than a riser bar.

I put an Alfine chainset on mine. It's way stiffer than just about any square taper chainset out there (bar 75 and DA) and you benefit from the external BB (easy maintenance etc...) I also had issues previously with the spider of my Stronglight chainset rubbing against the stays, not anymore. You can get one for £65 on the one-one website and much cheaper on ebay. The 39t gives me 68 gear inches with a 15 tooth sprocket, which is a bit spinny but then that's my commute gearing anyway. Get a 45 if you want a higher gear.

Oh, and the chainline was spot-on too. Tilover had an Alfine on his Singular too and he put the chainring on the other side of the spider, which should be easy enough.

Not sure where this myth about high end but old fashioned cranks being stiff arises from, but it's obvious nonsense.

+Lots.
Doesn't explain why I have DA on 2 bikes and hollowtech on only one though.

I long to be able to have hollowtech on my Pompetamine.

They not that expensive. I have Ultegra from a few years ago, about £50 on ebay. Have non-groupset (R540 or something?) compact on my Pomp the now.

Yeah but I'm running a velosolo fixed cog on my disc mount at the moment. Means 54mm chainline so square taper or mtb hollowtechs, which I don't really think would suit the bike and doesn't give the range of chainrings I want to use. Be going single speed soon hopefully which will sort the chainline.
