  • Rain jacket is thinner but fully waterproof and packs down into a jersey pocket. The softshell is warmer and a bit more 'structured'; it does work well in wet conditions in terms of keeping you warm but it's not fully waterproof. The softshell is a sub-10° jacket really, a winter jacket. The rain jacket is better for carrying with you in case the weather turns bad.

    The wind jacket is a bit of both - not fully waterproof but quite a good everyday jacket in cooler conditions, maybe 5° up to 15° or so.
