So I ordered some Look Keo blades, should be arriving today but I'm having second thoughts about getting the 12Nm version. Does anyone know how that compares tension wise to the keo classic's, is it towards the loose or the tight end? I'm tempted to just send it back and order the red 16Nm one. Would match my bike better too.
12Nm is the upper limit of Keo Classics, so you'll be fine if you switch from Classics wound up to maximum release tension to 12Nm Blades. 16Nm is top whack on Keo Sprints. I chose 16Nm for colour matching too, but I've got Sprints on my track bike so I knew I'd be fine with the higher release tension. The entry/exit is a bit more snappy on Blades even though the nominal release torque is the same, so they are going to feel a bit different.
I'll stick my hand up as a member of the 'bought them cos they match the bike' club. Slowly spreading Blades across all the bikes, much prefer the feel of them to my sprints. The difference is probably all in my head, mind.

What's the accepted remedy?the acceptable remedy is to pass it forward to 10 other people (as much as your rep for the day).

I have a new back wheel (an OTP Weinmann DP18 rim jobbie that the LBS ordered in for me especially (without me specifying any details other a need to have it double soon and a preference for a fixed-fixed flippity flopper (1 out of 2)))
Having got it home i now see that the rim's interior width is 12.4mm. My current tyre options are:
a 32mm Marathon Plus,
a 35mm Marathon Winter, or
an old, and by now seemingly terribly puncture prone Conti SportContact 28mm.
[/INDENT]¡Another fine mess!
¿I'd like to use my Marathon Plus tyre (it's about 8 days old), but is it safe/wise to use it on such a narrow rim? I may as well lob that Marathon Winter??

My Di2 battery has started discharging/losing it's charge far, far faster than last year.
What should I look for in terms of troubleshooting this?

A new bike.
Always the best solution.

I'm tempted to go back to the external battery pack if I cannot cure this issue- it's very annoying.
Last year I was getting 500+ miles on one charge, this year struggling to get 50.

Was there somethimg amiss when I delivered stuff to you?
Proper answer; because the pay structure is specifically designed to attract only massive cunts. Peanuts => MonkeysWhat are good cables for not stupid money?

is it safe/wise to use it on such a narrow rim?
Not really.

Not really.
That chart's even more worserer! If i had to splurge again it was gonna be on a 25mm Marathon Plus.
-
• #42470
Sheldon's chart is safe, mine is sensible. Basically, of you deviate from my chart you have to run the tyre pressure so high to be safe that you might as well not bother with fat tyres.

Thanks. In that case i'll have a look at the puncture resistant thread for some 23s and then hope the shop have some.

Due to complete lack of maintenance I'm replacing my drivetrain - I only have the tools to replace the chainrings and the chain - would it be reasonable to do these first and then replace the cassette a couple of weeks later at LBS or will a worn cassette wear everything out that quickly?
-
• #42473
If it's really worn the chain might not mesh with the cassette properly and it'll jump about, buy a chainwhip and cassette tool and do it all at once.
-
• #42474
Do it all at once, buy a cassette lockring tool and a chain whip while you're shopping because they are tools you're always going to need.

I win.
I'm looking for a nice pair of long finger leather gloves for off and on the bike occasionally
I've lost on of my Dromarti ones which I loved
Any recomendations?
Rapha are too small so lets rule that out...
Thanks
