I already had some Hope XC hubs from my old MTB. I got them rebuilt onto Mavic A317 29er rims and they've been pretty damned solid (I'm a big chap/fat bastard).
V-Twin might be a nice upgrade some day, but for now I'm going down the Thomson/CK route to add a little sparkle.
