The rhetoric seems to have changed slightly, less equivocation around 'needs of all road users', ie motor vehicle users are most important. Taking out lanes for cycle only routes ini areas as high profile as victoria embankment is a pretty bold political step.
Admittedly it is only talk at the moment but it's talk of a very different nature to even a couple of years ago.
I think a big part of this is down to the campaigns of the LCC et al. and I think it's generally a good thing. There may be some on here who like to barrel around New Street roundabout mixing it with the motor cars but these plans are not meant to improve things for those people. These plans are for the 95% of londoners who don't fancy it much or at all at the moment.
