assume the study has two groups: 100 who eat processed meat and 100 who don't. Study says that in total 1 in 17 participants died during the 12.7 year follow up period. That's about 12 people.
I think that the study says that 7 people of the former group died in the 12.7 year follow up period, whereas 5 of the latter group died. 7/5 = 140%. obv my numbers are assumptions hence the % isn't exactly 44%
