Brilliant thread by the way- something which I'd thought about before, glad to see I'm not the only one!
How come no one has mentioned a tandem? Is it down to maintenance?
Half the battle of post apocalypse would be in your own head, if you had company it would make things much, much easier.
2 people to cook, fight off anyone and power the bicycle.
2 people to maintain the bicycle and due to the tandem size you'd have a lot more space for spares.
