One of my regular loops a few years back involved heading out through Elmers End (so from Camberwell or E&C you'd be heading up Denmark Hill, through North Dulwich and up to the transmitter at Crystal Palace and then either down the west side of the park (Anerley) or the east side (Penge). Then down through West Wickham, down Corkscrew Hill, along Layhams Road, Skid Hill Lane, left onto the B269, down into Westerham, along a bit of the A25 and then back up Star Hill or Polhill and head north until the A232 and then back to West Wickham.
Variations included doing stretches of the Pilgrims Way, rightly featured in the road porn thread. Last time I rode along that road on my way to Sevenoaks I had a moment of feeling that all was well with the world. Lasted about 5 minutes.
Quite busy with cyclists even those years ago but one of the quickest ways to get into the country for me, and a nice mix of hilly and gentle.
