Agree - looks like Carradice don't want to sell these, will go elsewhere.

There are a few different suggested soloutions floating about online, but I am going to do a spot of bagman fettling this evening. This article is well illustrated and clear for anyone who has experienced the rattling working loose of the grub / set screws:

I'm plagued by this so will take a look at that solution. Cheers.

Has anyone used the Carradice CarraDry Saddlebag before?
I want to get one but havent found any reviews of it online anywhere. -

It was the single biggest kit annoyance on a LeJog ride a couple of years ago. I tightened the screws each morning and they invariably worked slightly loose by the end of the day. #firstworldaudaxproblems

I just replaced them with Allen screws and loctited them. Not sure what their thinking is with the tiny, easily stripped grub screws.

Exactly what I did on mine on day 1 and have never had any trouble since

my bagman expedition came in handy with a trip to the post office (just a rear rack in the bag, nothing heavy)

I gave up on my bagman a while back.
My set up goes: Small pannier rack + traditional saddlebag. Bag loops around saddle loops/rails. Bag's seat post strap pulling it down (and, most importantly to me, away from my legs) onto the front end of rack. Bungee from loops, under middle part of rack, back up to other strap.
No bag swing, no bagman rubbish. Also, bike constantly ready for panniers should the need arise. Also a proper back end mount for my light afforded by the rack.
Nerdy, but works a treat.

yes.

Care to post a pic? That sounds good but the way I'm picturing it, it looks a bit Heath Robinson with straps all over the shop keeping things taut.

Oh yes.

That was the old method before they start with the bagman naff, great method.
Is your mounting arm not long enough to reach the rack mount?

^^ Eerie - exact set up over here, if that's a Fly.

Nice work. I do like the QR aspect of my bagman though as it's on my commuter, a.k.a. the one bike I own.
-
• #344
Can you not get the QR separately from the bagman?
-
• #346
Oh come onnn, I like how bagman (men?) look, I can use my quick release between the old expedition and new sport to save a bit of money.
And my rear light is clearly visible.

I posted a message to your wall saying thanks :)
He levelled my saddle grumble grumble grumble but I not too keen on that so I may tilt it back a tad again.

I use a strap from a Stanley tool bag! It's the same material, has quick release clips and has a sliding shoulder pad.
