You must have your group turbo training accreditation so the coach/other riders know you can hold your line and not stop suddenly, causing an accident.

What if you puncture or are dropped on a turbo session. Do the rest wait for you or do they just ride on and leave you like on club social rides?

Depends if they like you or not.

Shouldn't you be giving birth or something?

Seven riders, three punctures yesterday including me :( during the chain gang. Thanks to coach Glenn? (Glen?) for running the session.

What do you expect, riding track bikes at a CX venue? Silly people.
Must have been warm enough for 'proper' training nearly today?

Anyone knows if the chain gang is happening tomorrow?

• #2537
It's not.

I had originally heard that proper "summer" intermediate training (i.e. not the chaingang) was starting up again this Saturday, but it doesn't appear so according to the HHV site....
Can anyone confirm?
-
• #2539
It starts again on the 16th March I think

Trying to buy my race licence (hope to ride in the league this year) and I'm not sure if I need to purchase the full licence with silver membership or if the provisional licence with silver membership is enough. Can anyone help?

If you are ONLY going to ride League, then you only need a provisional with silver. You cannot get points on your license. TL points are awarded (I think) at the end of the season based on overall placings, so I guess not much of a worry to you.
However, track racing is addictive and if you've got a competitive streak like me and found you've scored a few TL points after a few weeks no doubt someone will ask, 'you riding the Omnium event on Saturday?' Now you are able to get some points on your license.
For now, buy a provisional and then once you are addicted, upgrade to a full license.

Ah, awesome, didn't realise it was kicking off again so soon... Looking forward to getting back on the track. Wonder whether the enthusiasm from the Olympics will have cooled by now?

mrjp, I'm working from the position that it will only have got hotter, as all those who were bitten by the track bug get their mates to join them at herne hill..
Will be interesting to see numbers out early doors..

Is that going to be moved to another date? :(

I'd also like to ask about the Adult Turbo Trainer sessions. I've looked on the website, but the only info I can see is on the calendar.
What happens in these sessions? How much does it cost and is it coached?
Is there a formal skill limit to these sessions, or is there a recommended limit similar to that recommended for the current Intermediate Chaingang sessions?
Cheers
