Armortex- I seem to recall that they will paint a carbon fork to match a frame, but is it simpler/cheaper just to go to Vaz?

Grabbed this off the bay a couple weeks ago. Not sure what to do with it yet. Long term project.

Orange+black, with blue contact points would be tasty.
Orange+silver with black not too shabby either.Everyone loves Max.

I'm taking the Galaxy to armourtex because it will be my everyday bike/tourer/workhorse and I want the durability of powdercoat.

I'm so glad someone on here got that! The BB shell is wicked.

New Sora looks really good anyway, the black will go well. It will do a nice job till you get Sram Force.

Anyone reccomend a good source for cheap black spokes? I'm not even bothered if they're plain gauge, they're for a heavy old pair of beater wheels, just need to be cheap. Need 288mm and 292mm if it makes any difference.

Black is twice the price of silver, is it really that important for a beater?

Jokes aside. Wouldn't lay my hands on Sora even if i got paid. Got some force parts on my main bike i may transfer over to this frame over time.

I agree on the durability aspect- however you cannot powdercoat carbon fibre, hence my query.
I'm thinking fork:

Yo dawg, I heard you like epoxy, so I put a layer of epoxy on your epoxy.

New headset, the old one was borked.
I just mounted some Mavic bits for the weekend and going for a quick test after lunch to see how it goes. Still not sure what I'll end up building this up with in the end but a bit of riding this weekend ought to give me some idea.

Got my Dawes Galaxy back from Ryan at Oak Cycles yesterday, with a new headtube after the old one cracked, and he’s done a great job! It’ll be off to Armoutex in a couple of weeks, still undecided on colour, but will probably be green of some description. I’m planning some new mudguards, racks, bigger tyres and a new saddle when I build it up again. Can’t wait to have this one back on the road.!
