"I could call this project "the ultimate combo".
The tube is custom made by Schmolke (40,8g and I still have to cut it a bit).
The saddle shell is a new shape that I just made, and it's 15.5g. But I see that I can make it even lighter and will laminate a new saddle shell (with around 13g).
It should be <55g when it's glued together!
Also the carbon reinforcement will have a custom layup, so we'll see how much it will weigh in the end... I'll keep you updated!"

I used to work for Sheppards, the company that owns Avanti (it's an NZ company, not Aussie)
Every frame they have is just picked out of a big fat 3000 page catalog. Along with their 'Zero' brand parts.
So it is probably the same as the Focus frames. They've always been known to produce crap, generic bikes. The only people who would ride them were nodders and people getting into road cycling who didn't have a clue but since the Avanti Pure Black racing team got some fairly decent recognition over here, the high end road bikes are being seen as a bit special now and a decent alternative to the S-Works and Supersix's that seem to dominate the roads.
