Just had a go on SPD-SL and road shoes, favourite pedals so far but you really can't unclip before coming to a stop on the like you can with MTB pedals and shoes! They're so damn slippery when not clipped in so I'll have to practice my clipless relax stands.
Also there is so much more tension with these, feels really locked in.
