I think you're missing the leadup to the full crash. Have a look at it from the far side of the track early in the video. They're belting along and he moves down onto the wheel overlapping a bit when they move up. He does move up but I think loses his balance or runs out of room for it.

But they're resting riders at that point, no?

I'm sure he was balling about Borat's mate moving up, but if he's only looking as far as his own front wheel then...WAC.
