• You need to build a mathematical model of the wheel under examination and the service loads it will experience, and then solve for the case where no individual spoke tension drops to zero under any foreseeable service condition, and no individual spoke tension rises above the yield point under any foreseeable service condition. Usually this will give a range of possible spoke tensions, which narrows towards the Dymaxion design and then becomes negative if your wheel design is not usable under the prescribed conditions.
